We have seen a rapid development and evolution of wings over the last few years and there are now more wings and sizes to choose from than ever.
A few factors to consider when choosing a wing are your body weight, your foil set up, the wind conditions in your local spots and your skill level.
Generally speaking it’s easier to start with a bigger wing in stronger winds. A pretty good starting point, assuming an average 15-20 Knots, an average rider of 75kg body weight and a beginner Foil set up is, to go with a Wind Wing in the 4-6m range. 5m wings are our top sellers, especially the F-One Swing V2 and Duotone Slick.
These are very beginner friendly all round freeride wings, the main difference between them is that the Duotone Slick comes with a boom to hold on to the wing, while the F-One Swing comes with handles. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The Boom is easier to handle in the beginner stage as you don’t need to find the handle when switching hands and can move the hand freely along the boom for adjustments.
Set Up and packing with a Boom might require a bit more time and adjustments. No right and wrong in this, both systems work and have their place in riding depending on your skill and what kind of winging you do.
More performance oriented wings, such as the Ensis Score, PPC Wind Wing and the F-One Strike will amaze you with their power, getting you going in barely any wind while staying extremely stable and controllable even in stormy conditions.
The Ensis Score and PPC Wing are suitable for everyone who wants to feel pure passion on the water, perfect for beginners who wants to discover the new Wind Wing Foiling world, and awesome for the pro who can easily improve their abilities thanks to the high performance characteristic of this wings.
After lots of testing, they both have reached the perfect combination between lightweight and power. They are easy to manoeuvre but rigid at the same time in order not to flex in strong wind condition.
